What is a Veterinary Specialist?
A board-certified veterinary specialist is a veterinarian with advanced education and training in a specific discipline of veterinary medicine. His or her knowledge and skill in this area is evaluated and recognized by a specialty organization or “college” sanctioned by the American Veterinary Medical Association. At NDVESH, not only do our specialty services have board-certified veterinary specialists, but our emergency team does as well.

The partnership between a specialty and a family veterinarian is important. Specialists are an extension of your family veterinarian, and we work closely together to provide a comprehensive healthcare plan for your pet. We will always keep your veterinarian informed of your pet’s medical updates and proposed treatment options, so you can feel fully supported and confident in making the best decisions for your pet. We also provide advanced training and CPR classes to your family veterinarians, further strengthening our relationship and equipping the veterinary community with valuable skills, ultimately ensuring your pet receives the best care possible.
