Sandy Young
Dr. Young is a diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. She attended Colorado State University for veterinary medical school, followed by a rotating internship at the Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Toronto, Canada. She then practiced as an emergency veterinarian in the DFW area for four years. During this time, she became inspired by the complexity of critical care and decided to pursue an ECC residency at the University of Minnesota.
After her residency, she returned to the DFW area to serve as a critical care specialist for five years before she became captivated by kidney diseases and extracorporeal therapy. She is currently a member of the residency program of the American College of Veterinary Nephrology and Urology, and she completed Hemodialysis Academy and a fellowship in extracorporeal therapy (dialysis) at The Ohio State University. She is especially interested in kidney and lower urinary tract diseases, toxicity, and immune-mediated cases.
In her spare time, Dr. Young loves spending time with her husband and their four cats: Sherlock, Chico, Nala, and Goma.
