Katherine Mix

Dr. Katherine Mix is a Dallas native who’s board-certified in veterinary emergency and critical care. In her role at North Dallas Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital, she provides oversight on medical standards, patient care protocols and hospital operations. 

Dr. Mix graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. Following graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Mix completed a 2-year small animal rotating internship and a 3-year residency in small animal emergency and critical care at South Texas Veterinary Specialists in San Antonio, TX. Prior to completion of her residency, Dr. Mix worked briefly in a primary care private practice in Corpus Christi, TX and emergency medicine in Houston, TX.

Her professional interests include acute kidney injury, toxin ingestion, accidental drug overdose and sepsis. Dr. Mix finds purpose in giving the most severely ill patients a chance at survival. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her daughter, 3 dogs, 1 cat and 4 goats!
